Common Pubblico Deposited
- Common. (1) Bearing the same side among two or more medallic issues – as a common reverse – a reverse die muled with two or more obverse dies. The practice of using a common die for such medallic issues saves the cost of at least one die, and, in a sense, adds uniformity to the issues. It differs slightly from a stock die which could be mated with any similar size die at any time. See mule, muling.
