Definition

• Spanish, literally �little tree.� Slang for the early silver coinage of the Republic of Central America 1823-1847, bearing a ceiba tree, the official tree of Guatemala. Sun dollar is the English slang for the coins in that they show a blazing sun behind mountain peaks.
