  • Spanish: A Chinese chop. Also resello chino, marca chinica. The word may have begun with the British in India, where the words chappa or choppawas were used for an official stamp, mark, seal or chop. Chops, Chinese characters and/or designs, were imprinted with ink or stamped with metal punches on coins used in commerce.
