Cortando barras cilíndricas en rodajas Pubblico Deposited
- Spanish: Cut from cylindrical bars. A study of ancient Roman coins claimed that some planchets were made by slicing them from a round bar. This is a 'cob' reference as in 'cabo de barra,' meaning cut from a bar. Evidence of this conjecture is lacking in both ancient and Spanish colonial times. Metal was not sliced like a salami but cast then hammered or rolled flat, trimmed to a crude shape with large shears, and struck with dies.
