Crisol Öffentlichkeit Deposited
- Spanish: Crucible or melting pot. Early mint melting pots could only be used about six times. They were then broken up with hammers to recover the gold or silver which had become fused inside. Graphite crucibles by 1870 in England were considered better than iron ones because iron pots absorbed silver. Iron also contaminates silver. British use of iron pots for silver ended because of this loss of metal.
