Cruz de ocho puntas Público Deposited

Definición
  • It is not known why the 8-point Malta cross was chosen for the 8 reales coins of the early colonial Americas. It may have represented 8 for natives and others who may not have understood Latin numbers. Dots and bars were used in other denominations. A cross of 4 points may have served to identify the 4 reales coins.
