• Spanish: One word for a box thaler, a large coin which has had its face sliced off and the metal inside machined out forming a hollow area. A popular item with the wealthy in the 1600s and 1700s. The top is hinged or threaded. Inside are roundels made of some thin material with detailed artwork on them. 2. A relic or trinket for personal adornment, often with mounted coins in some cultures.
