  • Spanish: A weight system once used by assayers to set the purity and weight of coins or metals. A gold dineral divided into 24 quilates or karets, each containing 4 grains. A silver dineral was divided into 12 dineros of 24 grains each. 2. Slang referring to a lot of money.
