• A specific number of collectable items offered to the public. Knowing the ideal number of medals to produce is difficult. Overestimating the potential sales numbers creates unsold remainders which lowers future values. In the 1960s the idea of a cut off date began. Orders were taken only up to a published date, giving the maker an exact number to produce.
