• A silver coin producted by Felipe II of Spain for Brabant, Flanders and the Spanish Low Countries beginning about 1557, and the type was retained for many years, even after the Netherlands had become independent of Spain. This coin is sometimes called the Ducat�n. It had fractional coins of 1/5 and 1/10.
