  • A gold coin issued by Alfonso II, Pedro IV and Fernando I of Aragon 1346-1478 in Cataluna mints. 2. Several European gold and silver coins beginning in medieval times. In Spain, the coin was introduced by Pedro IV of Aragon in 1346 at the mint at Perpinan. It continued into the reign of Fernando el Catolico, and ended under the rule of Carlos V.
