Ley de fino Público Deposited

Definição
  • Spanish: Literally law or law of fineness of a coins metal. The word often appears on Spanish American silver or gold coins. Also lei. It is the proportion or percentage of silver or gold being used in a coin. Once calculated in 24 karats (24 quilates) it was later changed to fineness in thousandths, (milsimas) in which coin silver was typically .900 fine, and sterling was .925 fine. The fineness of silver coins varied widely over the years. See: Plata de ley (Silver purity in coinage).
