Matrix hub Pubblico Deposited
- A hub for making dies like a regular coin die, with its design details incuse. The patrix hub is the impression from that when they are pressed together, or married, in a hub press. Engravers work on either type hub to perfect their designs. One could use a patrix hub of a design element, like a bust profile, and sink that into a blank hub, then sink the individual letters around the bust to create either a matrix hub or a working die. Sometimes matriz is used to mean a mold, but more common and correct is the word molde. Matriz does not mean a die.
