Medalla-moneda Público Deposited
- Spanish: Medal-coin, or NCLT. The most practical Spanish term for the cumbersome English non-circulating legal tender (NCLT). These are the silver and gold coins issued by mints around the world usually in limited editions with prices far greater than their face value and their silver or gold value. An example: A mint produces a 10 euro silver coin containing $14 worth of silver and sells to collectors for about $60. The secondary market of NCLT often has prices closely tied to the silver value so a few years later this piece is sold for about $25 as a collector dumps it at a loss. These coins differ from one troy ounce bullion rounds which are sold by silver value plus a small production charge.
