  • Counterstamped 2 reales coins from Lima and Potosi. In 1662, after the Potosi Mint scandle became known, the Guatamala mint stamped a crown on 2 reales coins from South America that had the proper weight, to distinguish them from the adultered ones and prevent fraud. These became Guatemala's first coins.
