Définition

• Spanish: Brittle gold, containing small traces of lead, arsenic, antimony and bismuth. Even as little as 1/2000 of a gold mass being of these metals creates a crystalline structure that makes gold brittle and unsuitable for coining. A problem noted in UK in 1870.
