• The Spanish Netherlands, where Spain produced a great variety of coins. A region that in 1581-1714 was comprised of modern Belgium and Luxembourg, plus the 17 Burgundian provinces of the Netherlands, along with parts of northern France and Germany. When part of the Netherlands separated to form the independent Dutch Republic in 1581, the rest stayed under Spanish rule until the War of the Spanish Succession.
