Pesillo Público Deposited

- A small scale for weighing coins and small objects. Literally: little scale. Brass coin weights were made to match the weights of particular coin denominations, with the coin type usually indicated in the design. They were usually brass or other copper alloy often simple replicas of the high-value coin they were made to weigh, more often gold than silver coins. They were the lowest weight at which the coin remained legal tender.
