Definition

• Spanish: The operation of upsetting and pre-forming the rims of planchets at the mint and getting the diameter and weight correct on the planchets. This provides a uniform blank with a rim slightly higher than the coin�s features, allowing them to be stacked. The British call this process �rimming� and the mill is a �rimmer.�
