Definizione

• Segmented collar in the coining chamber that opens to drop coins away after striking. If it did not open, coins with edge designs would stick in the collar. The first segmented screw press collar for putting artwork or words around a coin�s edge was developed at the Paris mint in 1783 Also called: Virola segmentada.
