Bio

  • Born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Attended Marquette University. Married to Daisy Sarah Bird (1904-2004) in 1942. Employed with his father’s company, Jackson Auto Supply. Employed as amail carrier. During WWII, served with the Flying Tigers in China.

    Virgil and Daisy exhibited extensively and between 1960 and 1970 acquired 113 exhibit awards. Virgil served as a governor for Numismatists of Wisconsin.

    He was named a Numismatic News Numismatic Ambassador in 1974 with Daisy.
