• Graduate of Purdue University. Married to Dee Dee. Partner in Valley Lumber in Colorado.

  Appointed to the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee in 2011.

  He won a Heath Literary Award in 2006.Author of Striking Change The Great Artistic Collaboration of Theodore Roosevelt and Augustus Saint-Gaudens (2007). For this book he received the PNG Robert Friedberg Award. Author of 1849: The Philadelphia Mint Strikes Gold (2016). This book received an NLG Award in 2016.
