  • Born in Kellnersville, Wisconsin. Married Anna Merle Dillon in 1932. He was wounded in action in World War I and spent three years in hospitals. Grraduated from Northwestern University in 1923. He was an accountant and office manager of the Harbor Transfer Company. He retired in April 1966.

    He was life member number 208 of the ANA. He served as second vice president of the ANA 1949 to 1951, on the board of governors 1951 to 1956 and president August 27, 1956, to August 24, 1957. He received the Farran Zerbe award in 1965. Served as secretary of the California State Numismatic Association 1947 to 1951 and president 1951 to 1952. He was president of the San Diego Numismatic Society in 1949. Editor for "Calcoin News" for two years. Founder and third president of California Exonumist Society. Received a medal of merit from the ANA, CSNA, and San Diego Numismatic Society.

    He was a 33rd degree Mason. He served 22 years as secretary of Hackett Lodge 574. He died in San Diego, California. In 1984 he was elected to the ANA Numismatic Hall of Fame.
