Biografia

• Born in Colesburg, Delaware County, Iowa. Owned the Fort Dodge Messenger 1878 to 1909. Elected state printer in Iowa and served 1883 to 1889.

  Appointed Director of the Mint by President Mckinley and served February 1898 to July 1907. Resigned to become president of the Commercial National Bank of Chicago. Appointed Director of the Mint again by President Taft serving July 1910 to November 1914. He served on the Assay Commission for 1916.

  Roberts appears on a mint medal (USM 310) as one of the series for Directors of the Mint. Dies were by Charles E. Barber.
