  • Born in Trenton, New Jersey. Married Deborah June 18, 1978. They have a daughter. Employed as a computer analyst after 1970.

    He began collecting at the age of seven. He has a numismatic research library with more than 5000 auction catalogs and more than 10,000 total items. He has supplied historical and pedigree information to several authors including John W. Adams, Kamal Ahwash, Remy Bourne, Walter Breen, Roger S. Cohen, Jr., Martin Gengerke, Pete Smith and Douglas Winter. He has contributed information for auction catalogs by Bowers & Merena, New England, Robert Seigel, Stack's and Superior. He has been rewarded for these contributions by having his name misspelled with great regularity.

    Rubin has contributed articles published in The Asylum, Gobrect Journal, The Numismatist and Rare Coin Review. Author of "Auction Appearances and Pedigrees of the 1792 Silver Center Cent" in America's Copper Coinage 1783- 1857. Author of "The 1907 ANA Convention" and co-author of "The 1861 Paquet Double Eagle" in the ANA Centennial Anthology.

    Rubin served as a board member of the Numismatic Bibliomania Society after 1989 and as president of the NBS 1991 to 1997.
