Seavey, George Franklin Público Deposited
Resident of Cambridgeport, Massachusetts. He was involved with the family firm producing metal products. He was a pigeon fancier.
His collection was exhibited at the Boston Numismatic Society February 4, 1869. It was described as complete at a time when most people did not collect by mint mark. An auction of the Seavey collection was scheduled for 1873 and 150 copies of a catalog were printed. The sale was cancelled when Parmelee bought up the entire collection. The Parmelee collection was sold at auction by New York Coin & Stamp in 1890.
