Swanson, Jonathan M. Publique Deposited
Born in Chicago, Illinois. He studied at the Chicago Art Institute. He worked briefly for the Illinois Steel Co. He moved east and joined the Whitehead and Hoag Company in Newark.
He produced the dies for many of the presidential medals issued by the New York Numismatic Club 1912 to 1940. He served as club president for 1924 to 1925 and appears on one of their medals. He received the one medal struck in gold. An additional 13 were struck in silver and 50 in bronze. Swanson designed the club seal in 1919.
