    Born in Brooklyn, New York. Received B.A. from the College of the City of New York in 1969 and M.A. from CCNY in 1972. Married to Gloria. Employed as a teacher in Brooklyn 1969 to 1979. Full time dealer in Manhasset, New York, after 1979.

    He served as president of the Society for U. S. Commemorative Coins and on the board of the NLG. He received the ANA medal of merit in 1990. In 1991 he was elected to the ANA board of governors. PNG member after 1991. Received the Glenn Smedley Memorial Award in 2001 and the Farran Zerbe Memorial Award in 2002.

    He has contributed articles to Coin World, COINage and Coins Magazine. Author with Walter Breen of The Encyclopedia of United States Silver and Gold Commemorative Coins. The edition was limited to 1000 copies. Author of The Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
