Biografia

• Born in New York City. Received B. A. from College of the City of New York in 1860. Married Marie Louise Show in 1868.

  Served as assayer in the United States Assay Office in New York City 1860 to 1873. In 1873 he succeeded his father as assayer-in-chief. He served on the United States Assay Commission for 36 years 1874 through 1910.
