Tsutakawa, George Público Deposited
Born in Seattle, Washington. Raised in Japan. Received BFA in 1936 and MFA in 1950 from the University of Washington. Served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He taught at the University of Washington 1946 to 1980; retired in 1980. Noted for his fountain sculptures.
He designed the Century '21 Exposition commemorative medal (Turner 7) struck in 1962 and the Expo '74 commemorative medal (Turner 38) struck in 1974.
