Bio

• Born in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Attended University of Wisconsin 1884 to 1888. Married to Catherine Lee with six children; Married Miriam Noel; Married Olga Lazovich August 25, 1928. They had one daughter.

  He began to practice architecture in Chicago in 1893. Among his important commissions were the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo and the Gugenheim Museum in New York City. He also designed many private homes. He died in Phoenix, Arizona.

  Wright appeared on the 1982 half ounce American Arts Gold Medallion. Mintage was 360,000 pieces with 348,305 sold and 11,695 melted.
