• Born in Cochranton, Pennsylvania. Received BA from West Virginai Wesleyan College in 1954 and MA from Emory University in 1955. Served with U. S. Army. Married to Myra Rose Watkins with four children. Employed in retail management.

  He collected medals of Benjamin Franklin and wrote The Medals of Franklin (1993).
