  • National Archives series description:

    This series consists of bids, proposals, and related correspondence. These records relate to the purchase of equipment and supplies for the U.S. Mint, Denver. Included are lists of new furniture; bids and specifications for equipment, machinery, and supplies; circulars regarding public buildings; memorandums of agreement with public utility companies; contracts and payment vouchers; and appropriations for repairs and proposals. Equipment purchased included coin bags, coal, furnaces, locks, and safes. The correspondence and vouchers also include topics such as the cleaning of time-clocks, sandblasting the building, carving wood panels, painting, and decorating. There are also copies of Bureau of Mines analysis reports on purchases of coal for the Mint.
