- Timothy Welo is a long time collector of scripophily materials. He has a wide ranging collection with special interest in the railroads of the state of Connecticut, the Ulster and Delaware Railroad, and the Monon Railroad. He also has an extensive collection of British railway share certificates. Additionally, he collects materials related to Jay Gould and the Gould Family and the Vanderbilt Family.
Tim presently (5/2020) serves as the Webmaster and Archivist of the International Bond and Share Society.
Tim is the author of The History of Worldwide Scripophily Auctions (2020) and has a keen interest in the auction marketplace for bonds and shares.
Tim was a 2019 recipient of a grant from the Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society that was used to partially fund his work on the analysis of scripophily auctions.
Most of Tim’s work career was with the American Management Association where he was Executive Director of Customer Information. He also worked at Gartner, Inc. as a Director in their events division.
Tim attended Purdue University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education and a Master of Science in Vocational Education and Measurement. He did Doctoral work at the University of Minnesota specializing in Statistics and Research Methods.
Tim is married to his wife Nancy and resides north of New York City. - 1954
