Bio

• Born in Rindge, New Hampshire. Married Anna Brown on April 29, 1829. They had three children. His business made detachable shirt collars. He contributed funds to build a school, later known as Bennett College.

  Author of Observations upon the Method of Bank Note Manufacturwith Unerring Rules for the Detection of Counterfeit and Spurrious paper Money (Chicago, 1864).
