- Born in England, he came to America in 1770. Pastor of the Third Congregational Church of Roxbury, Massachusetts. He returned to England in 1786. Author of The First Full History of the War by an American (1788). He corresponded with George Washington and reviewed Washington’s papers in preparing his history.
