• Born in New Rochelle, New York. Married Jean Dubois in 1755. Married Naomi Reade November 24, 1770.

  He engraved the plates for colonial paper money issued in New York. Extensive research by Eric Newman has identified Gallaudet as the engraver of dies for the Continental Dollar of 1776. The evidence was somewhat circumstantial but conclusive. He died in New York City.
