Dodd, Robert J. Publique Deposited
Born at Philadelphia, Studied at Jefferson Medical College. Married to Hannah. He served as a Navy surgeon 1826 to 1847. He became director of the Naval Asylum in Philadelphia.
On July 29, 1872, he wrote to the City of Boston and offered to donate $1000 to fund medals for outstanding girl students. The school committee declined the offer.
The City of Philadelphia accepted a similar offer effective November 4, 1872.
