Changing the thread from PDVs, here is an ANS/Canfield CT with the Hall attribution number on the left, and the Miller number on the right. My apologies to Robert and Neil for spilling (some of) the beans. Very interesting. Maybe there is something to this speculation. It certainly could be possible. Has there ever been an article written about inking up coins with their attributions in old or new journals or auction catalogs? I know Stack's has one CT specimen cataloged as a Painted Die Variety online. I never looked for this in my auction catalogs before. Has any correspondence from collectors in old files or in archives ever been found that discuss this? I find this very interesting. Thanks for all your very good input to all that have contributed to this thread.
Best to all, John
