Barrette Público Deposited

Definición
  • Barrette.  A small bar affixed to a ribbon drape or ribbon bar. The French first used barrettes on the Medaille Commemorative de Madagascar of 1895 which had an elaborate design featuring the name and date. It is also a device applied to a RIBBON BAR of an ORDER -- called a demi-barette -- to indicate class of the order. A ROSETTE is applied to the demi-barette of different color ribbon as follows:

Grand Cross or Grand Cordonrosette on a gold demi-barette.

Grand Officer – rosette on half gold, half silver demi-barette.

Commander – rosette on silver demi-barette,

Officer – ribbon bar with only the rosette.

Chevalier – ribbon bar without the rosette.

    See bar (2).
